Lauren Anderson, lcsw

Lauren Anderson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Montana and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Washington. She has 17 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, primarily serving the Alaskan community. She has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for nearly 10 years.

Originally from Homer, Lauren returned to Alaska in 2010 and began her 15 year career with Providence Alaska Medical Center, where over time, she served as a social service clinician (focus on pediatrics/outpatient pediatric oncology/CF clinic, maternity and emergency room), family therapist on the mental health unit, interim manager of the adolescent and adult mental health units, senior manager of social services, as well as a senior manager of clinical operations working to develop a Crisis Stabilization Center and overseeing Breakthrough and Bridge Clinic (addiction treatment). In June of 2024, Lauren began her work at Anchorage Neighborhood Health, serving as a behavioral health consultant, as well as a clinical training administrator for topics such as workplace violence and de-escalation.

Lauren is committed to helping people achieve their desired state of mental wellness through a collaborative and non-judgmental approach. As a therapist, she is warm, open , encouraging and direct. She believes creating a safe, confidential space to explore how the circumstances of your life have impacted your current state of emotional/mental wellness can be a catalyst for healing.

Lauren enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan, and currently sees adolescents and adults, with a particular clinical focus on life stressors, anxiety, depression, life transition, grief and loss, self-esteem, relationship struggles, parenting, family dynamics, communication skills, and maternal related issues. Lauren utilizes multiple modalities in her work, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, strengths-based practice, crisis counseling and brief solution-focused therapy.
